Care for your chlorinated latex

Your new powder-free items are supplied un-polished.

They have been carefully chlorinated to make them soft , smooth and much easier to put on.

After chlorinating, the latex is rinsed and dried, but often water marks or talc streaks remain which can be removed with a soft damp cloth – more fun if you’re wearing the garments!

Most people leave the outside of the garments soft and smooth, others prefer to shine with their favourite polish – the choice is yours.  We don't make any recommendation regarding polish but please remember polish will conceal the soft chlorinated surface until you clean it off.

Chlorination is great, but in very tight areas like fingers in gloves or ankles in stockings, you may prefer to add a little talc to help them on. Otherwise throw away the powder for good.

Chlorination should last the lifetime of the garment, but nothing can protect against normal wear, tear & abrasion that removes the shine from e.g. knees and elbows.  Once lost, this shine cannot be restored.

Wash, dry and store in the usual way.  If you don’t polish your garments, once dry they can be safely stored without worry of them sticking to each other.  Keep metals away from pale coloured latex; copper and brass can cause permanent staining.  Generally, protect from UV, excesses of temperature and sharp edges, and your Catalyst Latex Clothing should give you many years of pleasure.
